Is the evaluation really free?

Yes. There is no charge for the initial evaluation and no obligation to schedule surgery.

What do I need to submit?

Complete the questionnaire for the area being evaluated and provide the requested MRI and X-ray images. The team needs the actual DICOM files, not just a written radiology report.

How recent must my imaging be?

Imaging should generally be no more than six months old. Additional or updated studies may be requested based on your case.

Can I upload images securely?

Yes. Medical imaging is uploaded through OCG’s secure, GDPR-compliant portal in Germany. Do not attach large DICOM studies to the website inquiry form.

Treatment questions

Does submitting an evaluation mean I am an ADR candidate?

No. The surgical team may recommend ADR, another procedure, additional testing, continued conservative care, or no surgery. Recommendations are based on the complete review.

Can multilevel or hybrid cases be evaluated?

Yes. Patients with more than one affected level, previous fusion, or complex findings may submit their cases. Whether a multilevel, hybrid, fusion, or other plan is appropriate is a medical decision.

Do you evaluate hips and knees?

Yes. OCG also coordinates hip and knee evaluations. Both MRI and X-rays are requested, and additional imaging may be needed.

Who answers medical questions?

Medical questions and treatment recommendations must be answered by the surgical team. Brett Bailey is an International Case Manager and former patient, not a physician. He coordinates records, communication, scheduling, travel, and patient support.

Timing, travel, and cost

How long does the evaluation take?

Timing depends on whether all required records and images have been received and whether the team needs additional information. Brett will keep you informed as the review progresses.

Will I receive a price before deciding?

If surgery is offered, the written surgical offer will explain the proposed treatment and associated costs. Do not make travel arrangements until the medical and scheduling details are confirmed.

Can someone travel with me?

Many international patients travel with a spouse, family member, or friend. Brett can explain the typical logistics after a treatment plan is offered.

Will insurance reimburse treatment in Germany?

Coverage varies by insurer and policy. Patients should obtain written guidance directly from their insurer. OCG cannot guarantee preauthorization, coverage, or reimbursement.
